What Does Your Photograph Really Say

Photography is a very intimate process. I think that people take for granted what photography can actually do. When you have your photograph taken, this is your calling card to the world. Sure, you might not use your photograph in business or in a public place, but we need to show off your photograph to others its import and that you portray an image that is your own. I think that all too often photographers get out images that are less than par. So often I see a photographer who has shot an individual and given that individual images that should’ve been thrown in the trash. This not only waste the time of the customer, but in my mind creating a negative connotation with the photographer. After all, if we, as photographers, cannot select and deliver the highest quality image, and what are we supposed to be doing? I think that it’s our obligation, as photographers, to deliver a pristine image. Photography is more than just a minute. Again, even though you may not be using your photography business’s comp people will see it. Possibly on a mantle, hung on the wall in your house, or showing off by your spouse to friends or family. Nonetheless, someone at sometime will see your photograph, and it should be the best that it can be here

When people first see a photograph of an individual they make a split second decision. In that split second person can create a judgment on whether or not they steal a photograph is good or bad. It only takes a second for a person you think your photograph looks great, or if there is be looking at your ugly mug. Okay, maybe that’s a little trip back, but you get my point. People don’t get photographs and think, “the photographer really didn’t do a great job”. What a person thinks when judging a photograph is “wow that person really doesn’t look that good”. Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t want someone to think that I look like I’m too tired, or that maybe I was up partying all night long on that Tuesday evening before Wednesday’s big sales meeting. The thing is, despite who’s fault it was in creating such a unattractive photograph, you are still the only person being reflected upon. Fortunately, that black key photographer is long gone, collected his money, and is on the next project. But you are still there with those unattractive photographs trying to make people believe that it really was the photographers fault. A quick and simple solution is to choose a good photographer from the very beginning. Now, I know this sounds like a huge and daunting task, however, brace yourself organize your thoughts, and get ready to choose a photographer that you are actually proud of. This may be a thought that you feel is too aggressive, but keep in mind there are good photographers out there. At the end of the day a good photographer will be able to shoot a couple of hundred pictures in a session and throw out 85% of them. Sometimes the pride of the photographer gets in the way, thinking that every thing he shoots is magic. We both know that’s not the case.

Your photograph can be the spectacle of all positive attention. You just have to keep in mind that your photograph is your calling card to the world. Your photograph is how people will view you when you’re not around. In my opinion, it’s almost more in Porten and how people view you in real life. So finding a photographer they can deliver quality portraits, that actually show you off in a positive light, is key in making sure you, and the people you know, have a good impression of who you actually are.
